The Gorge of Kalypso is located in eastern Kissavos, above the village of "Kokkino Nero", known for its red water thermal springs. The largest waterfall of Kissavos is here - 100 meters high - forming a blue lake at its landing! It is a green gorge with dense vegetation, with beeches, chestnut trees and ferns creating a landscape of unparalleled beauty.
Canyoning in the Gorge of Kalypso starts with a short hike of about 30 minutes. We follow a verdant path until we reach the base of the 100 metre large waterfall for an enjoyable swim in the crystal clear waters of the lake. Having powered up from our swim, we rappel down three 20 to 40 meters waterfalls. The Gorge of Kalypso is the only gorge in Greece, where one can enjoy unobstructed views of the Aegean Sea and Mt Athos, throughout our descent.
