Do I need a guide to do the hike?

While a guide is not essential, they can enhance your experience and provide added safety. If you are an experienced and well-prepared hiker, you can undertake the hike independently. However, if you are unsure or prefer the added security and knowledge a guide can provide, hiring one can be a worthwhile investment.

Is it possible for beginners or less experienced hikers to undertake the hike?

Beginners and less experienced hikers with a good fitness level can undertake this hike with proper preparation, caution, and the right mindset.

I have had knee surgery. Can I participate?

Whether you can hike after knee surgery depends on various factors, including the type of surgery, your current physical condition, and your doctor's recommendations. It's crucial to consult with your orthopedic surgeon or healthcare provider before attempting any strenuous physical activities like hiking.

Can I participate during winter months?

Hiking through the Vikos Gorge during winter months (November to April) presents significant challenges and potential risks due to potentially icy and slippery terrain. Some months it is not allowed due to the high level of the river. Best way is to consult us about the condition of the gorge.
