The Rouvas forest, home to the largest clump of oak trees in Kernes, an area of unique appeal and ecological value, listed under Natura 2000.
Our culinary adventure begins at the Zaros lake path before the Agios Nikolaos gorge. After a 20-minute walk, we will reach the Agios Nikolaos monastery, where we will continue an uphill path through the gorge. The riverbed has waterfalls and ponds, and we will cross a wooden bridge before reaching the Agios Ioannis area, which has a chapel, picnic area, toilets, and benches. The hunt begins after a briefing by our truffle hunter, who will share the secrets of hunting and processing truffles.
Here, a Lagotto Romagnolo dog will help spot black summer truffles while we enjoy the beautiful nature.
We then meet the cook who carefully holds our hunting trophies and has set up his equipment at Lake Zaros, 425m above sea level.
