Overview

The Dolomites are located on the border between Italy and Austria and are part of the Southern Alps and a natural border between the two countries. Their name comes from the homonymous type of rock that which gave these mountains their characteristic shapes and colours.

During the First World War, it was a battlefield of warfare with the construction of mountain paths in the steep cliffs, with tunnels and passages equipped with wire ropes and bridges.

Flight Milano - Tre Cime Di Lavaredo

Departure from Athens early in the morning time 07:30 with a Sky Express flight to Milan.
Arrive at Malpensa Airport at 09:05 and immediately depart by road for the village of
In the area of the Dolomites, we drive to the village of Misurina. 

We then drive up to the Auronzo shelter and from there following the an easy path we go to the shelter Rifugio Locatelli where we will spend the night.

The shelter is located in a cleft in the altitude of 2,320 m, and has a panoramic view of the
in every direction and especially the three
impressive Tre Cime di Lavaredo peaks.
Dinner at the refuge is included.

Day trip: 437 km, 5 hours
Hike of the day: 4 ½ km, +270 m, -180 m, 1 ½ hours

Via Ferrata Innerkofler

We start our adventure in Dolomites with
a relatively easy via ferrata that ascends
up to the top of Paterno. The route at the beginning passes through a series of historic tunnels constructed during the First World War
War, then climbs through relatively easy rocks up to the top and making a a circular route back to the same refuge for an overnight stay.

For those not interested in making the via
ferrata, simple circular hikes will be made on the returning to the shelter at the
in the afternoon.

In the afternoon optional ascent to the summit
Sasso di Sesto (2539 m) above the refuge.

Lake Sorapis - Cortina D'Ampezzo

Following a different path we return to the car and depart to the Tre Croci Pass. From here following following a beautiful path we will go up to the magnificent Lake Sorapis.

In the afternoon we return to the car and
continue to Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Free afternoon for walks in Cortina and dinner.

Day trip: 23 km, 40'
Morning hike: 5 km, +235 m, -340 m, 2 hours
Hike to Sorapis: 12,7 km, +770 m, -170 m, 5-7 hours

Cinque Torri

Departure for Passo Falzarego, from where we will take the cable car and ascend to the 5 Torri mountain, a beautiful mountain with many paths and peaks. We will do a circular hiking route with optional ascents of short routes via ferrata to the peaks of Nuvolau and Averau.
Accommodation in the same hotel.

Day trip: 14 km, 25'
Hike of the day: 10 km, +/- 840 m, 5 hours

Madona Di Campiglio - Rifugio Stoppani

After having our breakfast, we drive to Madona di Campiglio. Madona di Campiglio is another famous mountain resort in the Western Dolomites, in Breda.

In the afternoon free time for walks and lunch around the town.

In the evening we ascend by cable car to the
Rifugio Stoppani for overnight stay.
Dinner at the refuge is included.

Day trip: 245 km, 4 hours

Via Ferrata Bocchete Alte - Rifugio Alimonta

Breakfast and departure for the exploration of the Dolomites of Brenta.

Initially the whole group sets off for the Tuckett shelter following a typical mountain path.

Then there is the option for those who want to do the impressive Via Ferrata Bocchete Alte that traverses the main Brenta peak ending at the Alimonta refuge for an overnight stay.

For those who want a hiking route without the use of technical equipment can reach the refuge by following a hiking trail with accessible local difficulties.

Accommodation at the Rifugio Alimonta in bunk rooms. The shelter has showers and charging sockets.

Hike to Tuckett: 3,8 km, +70 m, -260 m, 1h45'
Total hiking distance for the day: 10 km, +640 m, -500 m, 5 ½ - 6 hours
Via ferrata Bocchette Alte: 6 km, +780 m, -440 m, 6-7 hours

Via Ferrata Bocchete Centrali - Rifugio Silvio Agostini

After breakfast we depart to complete the impressive ferrata Bocchette on its second leg, which ends at the Bocca di Brenta Pass.

From there we descend to the Pedrotti shelter and continue along a hiking trail to the Agostini shelter for the night.

For those who want an easier route, there is a hiking trail that also passes through the Bocca di Brenta Pass and continues to the Pedrotti and Agostini shelters.

Route Bocchette Centrali to the Pedrotti refuge: 3 ½ km, +270 m, -380 m, 3 ½ hours
Route Alimonta - Pedrotti: 5 ½ km, +410 m, - 510 m, 3 ½ hours
Pedrotti - Agostini: 6,2 km, +270 m, - 360 m, 2h40', 2h40'

Trento

Our adventure in the Dolomites ends today, descending through the mountains to the village of San Lorenzo Dorsino.

From here we drive to spend the night in medieval Trento, a famous city in the semi-autonomous region of Trento.

Accommodation at Hotel Everest 3* in triple rooms with bathroom and breakfast.

Day Hike: 9.5 km, +10 m, -1100 m, 4 hours
Day trip: 35 km, 45 minutes

Free day Trento - Return Flight

Free breakfast in Trento to visit the city and its attractions, such as museums, towers, castles, fountains, churches, squares, etc.

In the afternoon we depart for Malpenze airport in Milan, for the flight back to Greece with Sky Express, with time departure 20:10 and arrival 23:35.

Another 500€ must be sent up to 2 months before departure and payment for the trip must be completed in stages by June 25.

When transferring or depositing money, please note in the REASON field your name/surname and the name of the trip DOLOMITES.

Cancellations

In case of cancellation of participation, the following cancellation fees apply:

  • In case of cancellation of the trip on the part of the office (due to low number of participants or other reason), refund of the deposit in full
  • Any cancellation on the part of a participant made between the day of booking and 25 May, will be charged 150 € per person for administration costs.
  • Cancellations from 26 May to 30 June will be charged with a cancellation fee of 700 €
  • Cancellations from 01 to 11 July will be charged a cancellation fee of €1,500.
  • Cancellations from 12 July onwards will be charged 100% of the total value of the trip

General Information

Accommodation - Meals

Accommodation is in mountain shelters, in rooms with multiple bunk beds and in a hotel in triple rooms with bathroom and breakfast.

The shelters have toilets, dining areas and charging sockets.

Meals in the refuges include breakfast and dinners (except in one refuge where only breakfast is included), while in the hotels only breakfast is provided.

Transportation

Local transfers are made by two 8+1 seater minibuses. Air tickets are included in the price and the final confirmation window is 2 months before departure, therefore reservations must be finalized no later than May 25.

Program Modifications

The tour leader reserves the right to adjust the itinerary based on weather or other local conditions (e.g., strikes, political unrest) to ensure the smooth execution of the program and the participants' safety. Any additional costs arising from such changes are borne by the participants.

Climate

The climate in the Dolomites is generally better than the rest of the Alps, with less rainfall, especially during our trip.

The summer months have temperatures of 10 - 25o C, with 1/3 of the days each month being rainy.

At higher altitudes it is often quite windy, causing the relative temperature to drop dramatically, perhaps to near zero.

Tipping

Tipping is optional and not commonly practiced. However, offering a gratuity to an exceptional tour leader who goes above and beyond can be a meaningful gesture of appreciation.

Hygiene, Safety, and Insurance

The cost of the trip includes helicopter rescue insurance in case of an unexpected incident in the mountains. However, travel insurance is not included, which if you wish you will have to book it yourself.
