Accommodation - Meals
Accommodation is in mountain shelters, in rooms with multiple bunk beds and in a hotel in triple rooms with bathroom and breakfast.
The shelters have toilets, dining areas and charging sockets.
Meals in the refuges include breakfast and dinners (except in one refuge where only breakfast is included), while in the hotels only breakfast is provided.
Transportation
Local transfers are made by two 8+1 seater minibuses. Air tickets are included in the price and the final confirmation window is 2 months before departure, therefore reservations must be finalized no later than May 25.
Program Modifications
The tour leader reserves the right to adjust the itinerary based on weather or other local conditions (e.g., strikes, political unrest) to ensure the smooth execution of the program and the participants' safety. Any additional costs arising from such changes are borne by the participants.
Climate
The climate in the Dolomites is generally better than the rest of the Alps, with less rainfall, especially during our trip.
The summer months have temperatures of 10 - 25o C, with 1/3 of the days each month being rainy.
At higher altitudes it is often quite windy, causing the relative temperature to drop dramatically, perhaps to near zero.
Tipping
Tipping is optional and not commonly practiced. However, offering a gratuity to an exceptional tour leader who goes above and beyond can be a meaningful gesture of appreciation.
Hygiene, Safety, and Insurance
The cost of the trip includes helicopter rescue insurance in case of an unexpected incident in the mountains. However, travel insurance is not included, which if you wish you will have to book it yourself.
