Overview

The Greater Caucasus mountain range stretches from the Black Sea to the Caspian Sea, along the border between Georgia and Russia.
On the southern edge of the mountain range lies the province of Svaneti, with traditional villages of medieval architecture featuring stone houses and towers, hospitable people, customs, traditional crafts, local cuisine, and unspoiled nature with untouched rivers, gorges, and green valleys. All these features are the reason why the entire area has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and make up a unique hiking setting, in the shadow of the imposing mountains Shkhara (5190m), Tetnuldi (4900m), and Ushba (4700m).
Starting from the village of Mestia, we will hike to Ushguli, considered the highest village in Europe, which we will reach after 50 kilometers. With our hiking program, we will explore the natural landscapes of the area and get closer to the locals by choosing to stay and eat in local guesthouses in the villages. This program is aimed at people in good physical condition who want to explore the "mountainous" side of Georgia on foot with daily hikes of 10-15 km.

  • Accommodation in the most mountainous permanently inhabited village in Europe, Ushguli
