Overview

Our Jeep tour Zagori starts with a tour of the most famous stone ‎arched bridges of the Zagori area. Then, we head towards the Vikaki Canyon and the “Old Bridge”, one of the oldest ‎single-arched bridges of Zagori. We make a short stop in the picturesque village of Tsepelovo to enjoy our coffee or tea in the traditional village square. From Tsepelovo, we follow a dirt road on Mount Tymfi heading to the village of Iliochori. ‎

En route, we stop in the dense fir forest of Gyftokampos and then reach Iliochori. ‎From there, we hike to the impressive waterfalls, where we can also swim and then cook traditional food from Zagori close to the river.

. Afterwards our refreshing dip in the crystal clear waters, we enjoy a ‎visit in the open-air museum of Sarakatsani Stani, a ‎unique monument about the life of the area's nomadic populations. Our last stop ‎will be a unique location, ‎where we will admire the Zagori region's panoramic ‎views.‎ ‎

Great tours with Trekking Hellas
Top experience with Trekking Hellas. We had two tours with them. First a jeep 4x4 private tour with George. He took us to a few stone bridges, a small village for a coffee, a waterfall for a swim, a 4x4 ride through the forest, and a small outdoor museum to see the way of life of people from a 100 years ago. He was a super guide, very knowledgeable about the area. He grew up in the area and he took us to his mother's hometown. The waterfall swimming was top! The water is icy cold but with 30 degrees it was refreshing. He was also great with our two kids (ages 11 and 9). We were together 7 hours but it was all good fun. Definitely recommend!

Our second experience was canyoning (beginners level as our children are 11 and 9). We had two guides (sorry I cannot remember their names), both professionals and knew all about canyoning. It was challenging, they were great in guiding us and making us feel safe. The children also really loved it, although they found it more scary than they thought they would. The guides took lots of photos for us to have later. The climb out of the gorge was more challenging than the abseiling. :-) We would definitely do it again.
