2-Day Ski Mountaineering and Splitboard Tour - Gomara & Smolikas

A Unique Two-Day Adventure in the Gomara and Smolikas Region You Can’t Miss!

Trekking Hellas Mt. Olympus, in collaboration with Certified Mountain Guide (HMGA) Akis Parousis, organizes a 2-Day Ski Mountaineering and Splitboard Tour in the Smolikas and Gomara region!

The tour will take place in an area renowned for off-piste skiing and snowboarding, surrounded by breathtaking forests of beech, black pine, and ancient Bosnian pines. The gentle slopes and absence of avalanches make it the ideal terrain for a ski touring and splitboarding camp.

Who is it for?

The tour is designed for skiers and snowboarders with advanced riding skills (comfortable on red runs, controlled descents on black runs) and excellent physical fitness, who already understand the basic use and movement with ski touring and splitboarding equipment. It’s perfect for those looking to expand their knowledge while exploring the natural beauty of Smolikas and Gomara—a region full of natural lines and a paradise for ski touring and splitboarding.

What the Two Days Will Include:

Movement in the field and selection of descent lines
Snow quality analysis

09:00 AM: Meeting at Chalet Robolo, located at the Vasilitsa Ski Center, opposite the Elimeia drag lift. Participants will meet, and equipment will be checked. An introduction to splitboarding equipment (Splitboard, Skins, Poles) will take place, along with a safety briefing for mountain activities, including a demonstration of the transceiver (Sonta) and shovel.
11:00 AM: Field activity begins. A warm-up session followed by the ascent to the Gomara peak. Participants will enjoy touring and riding in the vast backcountry terrain!
3:00 PM: Descent from the peak of Gomara.
4:30 PM: End of the day. Departure for Samarina (20 minutes), where participants will stay overnight at the Abellas Samarina guesthouse.
Evening: Free time for dinner and rest.
6:30 PM: Briefing on Sunday’s program and group discussion.
